A long renewed partnership for PostNord and Fives confirmed by the contract award for the new automated system in Malmo, Sweden
PostNord is a group offering communications and logistics solutions to, from and within the Nordic region.
Fives and PostNord have been working together for a long time: particularly, the handling system installed in Malmo was the second contract PostNord awarded to Fives back in 1995.
After more than 25 years of operations, PostNord decided to renew Malmo’s logistics system aiming at creating a bigger system with higher performance and throughput.
PostNord chose again Fives due to the reliability of our technologies and the good technical solution proposed by our team of experts.
The existing technology - still in operation - will be thus dismantled and replaced with the new GENI-Belt sorter, the core of the new handling system.
Fives developed a turnkey solution that completely satisfied the customer requirements: the automated system will equipped with the GENI-Belt technology, 4 GENI-Feed induction lines and 250 destinations to handle small items at a capacity of 18,000 items per hour.
The installation on site will start in May 2021 and the new system will be taken into operation in September.
